Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has a telephone conversation with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi

Mr Berlusconi expressed his condolences to Mr Putin over wildfires and asked to pass his words of support to the people of central Russia, who are currently fighting the natural disaster.

The Italian prime minister offered to dispatch several fire-fighting aircraft to Russia in addition to the assistance Italy is already providing.

Mr Putin thanked the Italian partners for their solidarity and their offer of help in an emergency.
