A telephone conversation took place today between Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, initiated by the Turkish side

During the phone call, Mr Erdogan spoke of his solidarity with and support for Russian citizens in this year's abnormally hot weather. He also sent his condolences on the wildfires' human casualties. Mr Erdogan noted that Turkey has first-hand experience of how difficult it is to fight wildfires, as Turkey has to deal with the problem each summer.
The Turkish Prime Minister said he was ready and willing to help Russia through this emergency. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin expressed his gratitude for this support.
