Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends his condolences to the widow of poet Andrei Voznesensky following his death

The message reads, in part:
"An outstanding Russian poet endowed with a bright, distinctive talent and an acute sense of the era has passed away. For many people, both in Russia and abroad, he became a true mastermind. His poems and prose were hymns of freedom, love, dignity and genuine feeling.
The richness of Andrei Voznesensky's personality was impressive as well as his invaluable contribution to the development of the best traditions of Russian poetry and public ideas.
We will preserve the memory of this wonderful person, our contemporary and compatriot, forever."
