Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends message to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia in honour of Easter

The message reads, in part:

"This great holiday brings together millions of our people. Its powerful creative force cannot be overestimated. It gives us joy and hope for spiritual revival and the moral renewal and perfection of humankind.

"Today, I cannot but acknowledge the role of the Russian Orthodox Church and the personal involvement of Your Holiness in addressing social challenges, and in the education and upbringing of young people, the restoration of national traditions and the strengthening of societal harmony. I have confidence that the fruitful dialogue between Church and state will continue to develop.

"May this bright holiday celebrating Christ's Resurrection bring peace and love to every home."
